A small library for working with clay

The materials at CLAYKIND grew from studio practice
rather than from trade.

They began with a simple need —
to find clay bodies and surface materials
that felt dependable in making, firing, and daily use,
yet were often difficult to access within India.

Over time, this search became a quiet, evolving library
of clays, glazes, and studio essentials
chosen for their consistency, workability, and long-term reliability.

Some clay bodies are sourced from historic ceramic regions
such as Jingdezhen in China,
while studio glazes include trusted international makers
such as Chrysanthos,
now made accessible to potters working locally in India.

The range remains intentionally limited.
Only materials that hold up in real studio conditions
become part of this collection.

CLAYKIND does not aim to offer everything.
It aims to offer what is worth returning to.

For studio practice across India

Materials can be shipped to potters across India,
while remaining closely tied to the rhythms
of the Panjim studio where they are tested and used.

Each clay and glaze is accompanied by
clear firing information, behaviour notes,
and practical guidance drawn from real studio use.

The focus stays where it belongs —
on making with confidence,
rather than on endless choice.
