Underglaze chalk: because sometimes you just want to express yourself on your bisque - your way. Versatile, vibrant, and lead-free (because toxic chalk are so last century).

Chrysanthos makes STRAIGHT CHALK – You read that right, wonky chalk is a real problem (just Google underglaze chalk). We’ve taken care to ensure all our chalk is straight so it doesn’t look like offcuts of colored clay and they are all uniform in length. We don’t skimp on consistency here.

HIGH FIRING

The only underglaze chalk on the market where all colors fire to Cone 10!

Yes, some colors may change between Cone 06 to Cone 10, but the point is the color is there. Hello, violet and pink!

  • Pack of 6 colored underglaze chalks – Black, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow & Brown
  • Completely lead-free.
  • Smudge-proof? Mostly. Sponge on the first coat to make sure nothing goes awry, then brush a couple of coats or dip for the finale!
  • Good to go on bisque!
  • Clear glaze and fire for food-safe finish.
  • Mix and smudge and blend away.
Firing range: between Cone 06 (999°C) – Cone 10 (1,305°C).

 

How do I avoid smudging my design when clear glazing?

The easiest way to avoid this is to gently sponge on the first coat of clear glaze before either brushing on the final two coats or dipping in clear glaze.
